Need to knows:
Stroller or sling? Recommended stroller
Baby friendly restrooms? No
Parking validation? No need — big parking lot
Did y’all know that there are more than 50 breweries in Austin? Beer isn’t exactly the most bougie of beverages, but the beer garden experience can be. The communal vibe, noshes, and day drinking are ideal for the baby toting crowd who struggle to stay awake past 10 pm but don’t want to be surrounded by lots of screaming kids or raucous 20-somethings.
A solid option for your bougie self is The ABGB — Austin Beer Garden Brewing Co.

This central Austin beer garden has both indoor and outdoor seating, and it’s both dog friendly and welcoming of all ages. There’s a lively vibe inside and a stage for live music, so very young and/or calmer babies could be happy indoors. The outdoors has less stimulation and would be a better fit for babies who struggle to sleep in a noisy environment and those who are prone to meltdowns.
Parking is seamless. There is a large lot just out front with a ramp closest to the road to wheel up the stroller. The beer garden is paved so it’s easy with the stroller, and there’s a ramp leading indoors if nature calls. There are no changing tables in the restrooms, however, so plan accordingly.

The picnic style benches are set up at least 6 feet apart, so it’s easy to social distance during Covid times. There are a few umbrellas on the tables to provide shade, but there’s only a couple of fans with misters on the far right next to the chain link fence. On very hot days, we definitely recommend bringing a fan for the stroller.

You can order drinks and food at the hut out back. They have full meals like pizza and Muffaletta sandwiches, or you can order fancier fare like the cheese board which comes complete with some very bougie marcona almonds. They have a decent wine and cider selection for non-beer drinkers, too. All in all, it’s a winner and very easy to visit with the baby. Check out their website for more info.
