Need to knows:
Stroller or sling? Recommended stroller
Baby friendly restrooms? No
Parking validation? No need — large parking lot
Anyone else feel like they’re in survival mode? That’s the level we’re on over here. Between maternity leave ending, doing that always joyful re-integration into work, battling back to back daycare illnesses, and — I’d be remiss not to acknowledge —this never-ending pandemic, we’re just trying to survive. A bright spot in the past few weeks, however, has been discovering the very bougie lunchtime spot Sala & Betty.

The female chef and restaurant, Teresa Wilson, named Sala & Betty after herself and her sister, and they’re known for doing “slow food fast.” The menu has quite the range of options, from salads to hearty sandwiches and burgers in a mostly new American style.
The restaurant is just off Airport Blvd and has a large parking lot just out front. It’s easy to access with the stroller, and they have a very large outdoor seating area for ultimate Covid safety. It’s the bougiest — heat lamps for cold days, fans for hot ones, and shielded from street noise thanks to that plastic covering. The vibe is perfect for easily stimulated little ones, sleepy babes and everyone in between.

There’s also some indoor seating, and during the day it’s been mostly empty each time we’ve visited. That’s also an option if the baby is having a meltdown, since the only witnesses will be the staff and they’ve likely seen worse.

The restrooms do not have changing facilities, sadly, so definitely bring that changing mat in case of emergencies.
Prices are on the lower end of bougie, so it’s possible to have lunch for less than $20. Sold, right? Who doesn’t like a bougie setting with decidedly non-bougie prices? It’s a winner.
